"One Good Turn" (1996)

STAFF: Directed by Tony Randel, writing credits: Jim Piddock
CAST: James Remar as Simon Jury, Lenny von Dohlen as Matt Forrest, Suzy Amis as Laura Forrest, John Savage as Santapietro

Everybody thinks Matt (Lenny) and Laura (Suzy Amis) are wealthy happy couple. Matt is running a small but successful game company, and his wife Laura is working at her antique shop. Though they had a problem in their marriage once in the past, now they are happy and love each other. One day, Matt comes across Simon (James Remar)on the street, who saved his life in a car accident 12 years ago. Matt glads their accidental reunion and invites Simon to his house, not knowing Simon has another thought. Soon everything begins to go wrong around the couple, and maybe it is all because of Simon - though Matt does not notice at all. When he realize the true purpose of his friend, the relationship between Laura and Matt is in danger again.

This thriller is not much interesting or suspenseful enough. As soon as it starts you can guess easily what happens next and how it ends at last. In addition, all the characters are too "thin" and it is hard to emphasize with them. However, concerning Lenny, it is completely different. He played a man who suffered from many problems in his past but now tries to recover from them. Because he fitted into the role like in the other films, I, if I dare to say, very much enjoyed seeing Matt in trouble (I know it is cruel!).

There are lots of his close-up in the film, and moreover you can see his love scene with Suzy Amis!...though it is very short.
