You will find the description and full story of the film HERE.

I feel it very difficult to describe this film. It is an unusual war story....perhaps it is NOT intended to be a war story at all. If you expect a serious war story like "Saving Private Ryan" and "Thin Red Line" in this film, you would be certainly confused and probably feel frustrated because there is no realistic war description, and there are many points of contradiction in the story.
Then, what is this story about? After seeing this film, I realized that this is the story about the men, who happen to meet an angel (literally), and whose wounded and sick hearts are cured by her. Well, in a point, I say it is a very unique and interesting love story.

The story is in European frontline in the WWI. Lenny played Ludwig Heig, a wounded German pilot with calm and sensitive nature, who makes friends with an American soldier (Jason London) captured by German troops. Ludwig is one of the most interesting figures in this film - he is tired with war and suffering from his own glorious past as a war hero. He now feels all he did was just killing people. Some people would think such a character as Ludwig is a typical one in a usual war story. Maybe it is. But please look at his serene eyes with bitter sorrow and hear his way to speak his past in a calm voice, you will find only this character, Ludwig Heig, is able to express a war tragedy in this strange story.

In Japan DVD and VHS video cassette are on sale under the grammatically strange title "Brave Field" (in Japanese, "Breibu Fiirudo")
